DICK'S Sporting Goods

I’ve generally had very positive experiences at Dick’s Sporting Goods over the years, which is why this particular interaction was so disappointing. Today I stopped in to buy soccer cleats for my daughter, who had just returned from overseas travel and was so exhausted that she couldn’t come inside the store. I found a couple of floor-model options and asked whether I could briefly bring the mismatched display shoes out to the car so she could quickly see and touch them before I purchased a pair. The answer was no because of company policy regarding unpaid merchandise leaving the store. To be clear, I understand and respect the purpose of anti-theft policies, and the employees and manager were polite throughout the interaction. My frustration was not that a policy existed. It was that there appeared to be absolutely no room for discretion, creativity, or common-sense accommodation in what was obviously a very unusual and low-risk situation. An employee could have walked out with me. They could have held my ID or credit card. I could have temporarily purchased both pairs and returned one. There were several reasonable ways this could have been handled while still protecting the

Sad to say I will forever never go back to a Dick's sporting goods again. They don't sell fishing equipment they don't sell boating stuff they don't sell hunting things. If you want workout clothes I guess you could go there.

I came in last minute to get some snow pants for my children due to the weather forcast in a few days. Academy didn't have anything left, so I ran across the street to Dicks right before close at 8:52pm. The manager was so helpful. She even went to the back to find the correct size for my 3rd grader. I really really appreciate their kindness because I know it can be so frustrating when people come in last minute. They were all super nice at the Franklin, TN location. I appreciate their help!!

Already not a fan of this place because of over priced products, but gave them another shot. I needed some Predator appearal for my wife. First, there was only one item for women and it was extra large so I bought a hoodie in a mens small. $137.00 later and it didn't fit. So I came back the next day with tags attached and receipt in the bag. They would only give me a gift card because I used a debt card. In other words no refund only extange. So that's it, I've spent my last dollar at Dick's because they suck!

RECOMMENDATION - Everything a sporting goods store should be. We were killing time as the ladies were shopping in other stores. We hung out with the kids (11am - noon - Saturday) (2 adults 2 kids under age 2) VALUE - 4/5 - Even though I was from outta state I bought a new pair of HOKA running shoes. They had the size I wanted. Service person was happy to go back and forth with my requests and help me find the right shoes. SERVICE- 5/5 They had a lot of service people available. They were happy and helpful. We were in there killing time for over an hour, letting our kids check everything out. The staff was happy to have us there. ATMOSPHERE - 5/5 A big sporting goods store with every option available. See the video I attached. They have EVERY option available. PARKING - Free and lots of it. It was a busy weekend, but there was still lots of parking.
